Three more patent attorneys join Cohausz & Florack team

Düsseldorf, May 14, 2024 – The law firm Cohausz & Florack (C&F) is continuing to grow and recently added three more patent attorneys to its team in the shape of Dr. Janina Ertmer, Wieland Fahr, and Dr. Frederik Tenholt.

Dr. Janina Ertmer specialized in the fields of plasma physics and nuclear fusion during her bachelor’s degree in physics at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf and as a DAAD scholarship holder during her master’s degree at the University of York (UK). She gained practical experience at Culham Centre for Fusion Energy in Oxfordshire (UK), among other places. While completing her doctorate at Forschungszentrum Jülich as part of the “Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate” program at Ruhr University Bochum and Ghent University (Belgium), she researched the development of intelligent plasma- and oxidation-resistant tungsten alloys for use in nuclear fusion reactors. After completing her training at C&F, she joined the firm’s physics and electrical engineering team as a patent attorney in May 2024.

Following his master’s degree in biochemistry at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Wieland Fahr earned his doctorate at the Technical University of Braunschweig. In his dissertation in the Department of Biotechnology, Wieland Fahr developed a method for the selection of monoclonal antibodies using phage display and mammalian cell surface display. He gained industry research experience in the pharmaceutical Research and Early Development (pRED) department at Roche Diagnostics in Penzberg. He has been supporting the C&F team as a patent attorney and expert in the fields of life sciences, biotechnology, organic chemistry and food technology since January 2024.

Dr. Frederik Tenholt studied physics at the TU Dortmund and earned his doctorate at the Ruhr University Bochum. During his studies and doctorate, he focused on high-energy astrophysics and gained a great deal of international experience in this area of research, including at the WIPAC (Wisconsin IceCube Particle Astrophysics Center) in Madison (USA) and at the LBNL (Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory) in Berkeley (USA). After successfully completing his training at C&F, Dr. Frederik Tenholt joined the C&F physics and electrical engineering team as a patent attorney in May 2024.

“With their extremely impressive expertise, we are delighted to welcome Dr. Janina Ertmer, Wieland Fahr, and Dr. Frederik Tenholt to our team of patent attorneys and wish them all the best in their legal careers,” says Dr. Natalie Kirchhofer, patent attorney and partner at C&F.
